All aboard for a hilarious journey across the universe in this HBO comedy series from Armando Iannucci (HBO's "Veep"). Set 40 years in the future when traveling the solar system is a booming business, the series follows life on board Avenue 5, a mash-up of a cruise liner and an interplanetary rocket ship packed with luxury amenities. Hugh Laurie stars.
CREATIVE STRATEGY
Playing into the 2019 holiday travel window to extend Avenue 5 into the real world with a stunt faux tourism campaign. Tourism-focused creative assets (print/digital and AV) showcasing talent was created. Mirroring the cheesy nature of the show the campaign takes advantage of out fashion designs to create a cheeky satirical extension of the series.
JuddSpace.com
Developing a companion microsite for the faux-tourism campaign was integral in capturing the attention of viewers. Drawing inspiration from the travel and cruise industry Juddspace.com reflects the cheeky tone of the series by creating a satirical interactive extension of the show. Partnering with RESN the website reflects the events of the show with major updates being pushed throughout the season.
Tourism Ads
Ads were created to drive traffic into Juddspace.com. Ads were strategically placed across media environments targeting holiday travelers such as in/around airports and digital travel-related sites.
Red Carpet Photobooth
Following the space tourism cruise theme. A photobooth was set up at the end of the red carpet allowing attendees to take their own “Greetings From Avenue 5” postcard photo topping off the pre premier faux tourism campaign.
